Focus Group Needed

July 26, 2011 6:33 pm

NSC Creative is currently in production on a brand new Fulldome film and we need YOU to help us make it even better.

We are holding a focus group in our home dome @ The National Space Centre, Leicester, UK.

Date: Saturday 30 July 2011

Time: 9.30am (prompt!)

Prize: Free family pass to visit the amazing National Space Centre

Age: 8 – 18 yrs

We are currently short on 12 – 18 year olds so if you fall in-to this category we’ll give you an extra high five if you can join us.

Places offered on a first come basis.

We will need you to watch the 25 minute film in our giant 18 metre digital dome and then answer some questions in a group for about 30 minutes. The evaluation sessions will be staggered so you might need to hang around until 1pm till we can release you but you will be able to wander around the space centre whilst waiting (we have rockets and everything).

If you are interested in this unique opportunity to help us make a super cool dome show then drop us your age, name, gender, contact number and name of a parent or guardian if you are under 16 on an email to
web@nsccreative.com

Deadline for responses is 1pm Friday 29 July 2011 so get your skates on!

To whet your appetite the synopsis goes something like this:

“This is the story about how all 70 trillion cells in our bodies are connected and how they work together to allow us to exist.

A character driven adventure involving zoomascopes, shrinkatrons and roller skating, fire breathing tattoo artists! We travel into a cell to discover the secret of DNA, see a baby develop from a sperm and egg and explore the diversity of different cells in our body and how they all work together”.

ECSITE 2011

July 19, 2011 9:23 pm

We had a fabulous time at the ECSITE conference at the amazing new Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw.  Not only do they have great exhibits including a robotic theatre, but they’ll also soon be showing two of our Fulldome shows “We Are Astronomers” and “Astronaut” in their state-of-the-art planetarium!

The conference was attended by over 800 people from science centres, museums, zoos, aquariums, universities and research organisations from around the world. Even President Obama made an appearance (but not at the conference unfortunately).

We met colleagues old and new and got some great feedback and interest in our new productions; a stereoscopic version of “Astronaut” and a new character driven Fulldome show on genetics explaining in our own unique style how all 70 trillion cells in our body are connected and how they work together to allow us to exist.  Coming Summer 2012!
